Minor League Report: Dunedin and New Hampshire continued their losing streaks, Buffalo picked up a shutout, and more!

For the first time this season, a Buffalo Bisons starter finished with a win, as Andrew Bash finished with a line of 5 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K to bring his season ERA to 4.82. Mason Fuhart picked up a hold, striking out two batters and allowing a hit in his two innings of work.

Zach Pop also picked up a hold, striking out one batter in his clean inning of work, as Hagen Danner picked up the save with two strikeouts and two hits allowed in his inning of work.

New Hampshire out slugged

From near the top of the Eastern League Northeast standings to the bottom of the division, the Fisher Cats lost 13-8 to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, moving their record to 8-12. They are now on a four-game losing streak and are 1-9 in their last 10, yikes.

Devonte Brown had his best game in Double-A this season, hitting his second home run of the season and reaching base with a hit three separate times, including a double and a single. Zach Britton, Alex De Jesus, and Alan Roden finished with the other extra-base hits, all doubles.

The team totaled nine hits, with Rainer Nuñez, Michael Turconi, and Phil Clarke all hitting singles as well.

Unlike a lot of previous games, the Fisher Cats didn’t lose this one late, instead allowing nine runs in the first inning and 11 of the 13 runs in the first two innings. CJ Van Eyk was the starter, allowing nine earned runs in just a third of an inning pitched.

Alejandro Melean came in relief, finishing with a line of 1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 1 K, but the Fisher Cats got some length out of Trent Palmer, who finished with a line of 4 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K.

Eric Pardinho is off to a good start this season, as he finished with two strikeouts in his inning of work. In 6.2 innings pitched this season, he had a 4.05 ERA, a 3.33 FIP (2.29 xFIP), along with a 24.2 K% and a 3 BB%.

To finish out the game, Ian Churchill allowed two earned runs in two thirds of an inning, with Ryan Boyer having a nice bounce back game, allowing a walk and striking out a batter in 1.1 innings.

Dunedin has now lost eight in a row

The disastrous past two weeks have continued for the Dunedin Blue Jays, as they fell 5-1 to the Jupiter Hammerheads, bringing their losing streak to eight games. Moreover, they now have a 9-11 record after a 9-3 start. Not great.

The team had three hits on Saturday, with Tucker Toman hitting his third home run of the season for one of those hits. Victor Arias and Arjun Nimmala both had singles, with the latter walking twice. Ricardo Balogh also walked twice, with Edward Duran, Cristian Feliz, and Jean Joseph all walking once.

Lazaro Estrada made his second start of the season in a rehab appearance, finishing with a line of 2.2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER (2 R), 2 BB, 2 K to bring his season ERA to 1.93. Jerry Huntzinger pitched a third of an inning and allowed a hit, while Sebastian Espino pitched an inning allowing a walk.

Irv Carter pitched three innings, giving up two earned runs and two walks, but striking out five, while Bo Bonds finished out the game, allowing a hit, a walk, an earned run, but striking out a batter in his inning of work.
